Our whitening treatments are all supervised by Dr. Dovgan, so there is little to no risk of tooth sensitivity or over-whitening. He will work with you to determine the appropriate strength of whitening solutions to protect your oral health and achieve your desired effects. Additionally, commercial products can take several weeks or more to produce limited results, whereas professional whitening treatments can brighten your smile by eight shades in a single visit.
Is Teeth Whitening Right For Me?
If you are interested in achieving a brighter, more radiant smile you can feel confident in showing off, teeth whitening may be right for you. If you have gum disease, eroded enamel, or other oral health complications, Dr. Dovgan must address those prior to recommending any cosmetic treatments.
For some patients, especially those with intrinsic (internal) dental stains, porcelain veneers or dental bonding may be more suitable alternatives. However, some patients choose to have their teeth whitened before undergoing other cosmetic procedures so the treatments can be matched to the brighter shade.
What Should I Expect During Treatment?
If you choose to undergo an in-office treatment, a member of our team may begin by placing a barrier between your teeth and gums. This step protects your gums from coming in contact with the whitening gel. We will then carefully apply the prescription-strength whitening solution to your teeth. This gel is activated with a specialized light, typically for 15 minutes. To achieve your desired shade, we may need to reapply and activate the gel more than once.
In-office treatments take less than an hour to complete, and you can leave our office with a smile that is up to eight shades whiter. Dr. Dovgan will develop an ongoing treatment plan for you, which may include use of a take-home kit, so you can maintain your results long term.

Take-Home Kits
Patients who prefer to whiten from home may opt for our take-home kits. These kits also use professional-strength whitening gel, but are prescribed to meet your particular needs and achieve your individual goals. Our take-home kits include custom whitening trays that you will fill with the whitening gel. You can wear these trays for a predetermined amount of time and achieve your desired results in approximate two weeks.
